The Lab

Welcome to The Lab.

Cinematic tests, videogame adaptations, and experiments live here.

It’s more of a journal of rough and imperfect things with my commentary.

A test exploring a Cyberpunk 2077-inspired aesthetic and narrative tone using original characters.
The color palette draws from the lighting used in holocalls from Cyberpunk 2077. All shots were captured in-camera.

My first attempt at directing a project in Unreal Engine 5.
This piece was inspired by Halo 5’s Hunt the Truth teaser trailer, but I wanted to explore it through a more emotional lens—imagining Master Chief reflecting on the idea of Elysium, and what that might mean to a Spartan. Something about that contrast just clicked for me; it felt right. I also handled the motion capture for Chief’s hand using a Rokoko suit.

Inspired by the opening sequence of The Terminal List.
This was a lighting experiment—seeing how many lights I could hide and what I could get from shooting at 100 ISO. My friend and I found a surprising amount of character in the process. There’s something in this aesthetic and persona that stuck with me, and I’d love to return to it down the line.

A teaser concept for a The Last of Us prequel.
Visually inspired by the iconic main menu of the game, this piece imagines Joel’s 20-year journey leading up to the events of Part I. I’ve always been surprised Naughty Dog never explored this era—it feels ripe for storytelling. It could easily stand on its own as a feature film or serve as a compelling companion piece to the HBO series. Had some bit rate issues with the upload on this one.

A Halo-inspired teaser focused on Master Chief’s perspective during the fall of Reach.
All visuals were created in Unreal Engine 5, with mo-cap captured using a Rokoko suit. I just wish the blood smear of the elite showed up a bit better…
